The congress was held at the Palacio de Convencion de la Havana, Cuba (Convention Centre, Havana, Cuba).
Over 200 delegates and guest from 32 countries across the continents exchanged intense workshops, scientific presentations, symposiums, posters and keynote presentations on four themes – pedagogy, leadership, education and development and diversity.

Our 17th Congress well underway (11 April 2013)
INDER and IAPESGW are delighted that delegates from thirty-two countries from all parts of the world are attending their world congress April 10-13 at the Havana Convention Center.
Delegates from as far away as Australia, Northern Ireland, Brazil, South Africa, Japan, Austria, England, Nigeria and Canada are here as well as forty delegates from Cuba.
IAPESGW president Tansin Benn has announced that the UNICEF Latin American Caribbean representative Begolia Arelliano will be one of the guest speakers, along with Professor Doune Macdonald (Australia), Professor Darlene Kluka (USA), Professor Tess Kay (UK) and Professor Rosa Lopez D’Amico (Venezuela).
Professor Benn added: “We are so pleased to have our Congress here in Havana and to have such worldwide representation, an attendance record for our organisation. We are looking at sharing best practice and the latest research in physical education and sport development for girls and women, learning and working together to create a better world.”
